PokeBROS Rival Battle Round 1

"Well here we are, the Pokemon stadium!"

Professor Maple gestured enthusiastically as she flung open the door.

It wasn't exactly a stadium--the area was relatively small and the walls were beginning to smell like mold--but it was good enough. Besides, Clarisse looked as though she would explode if she had to wait any longer. Before the professor could take the referee stand, she'd already jumped into her place and called out her first Pokemon. The Slowpoke shook its head a bit and lumbered into the ring.

"Ready when you are!"

Eline Leribell, the challenger, took her place as well. "Well, I'm ready, so let's go!"

The battle was over quickly, but it was an intense one nonetheless. Clarisse's Slowpoke put up a surprisingly good fight for a Pokemon of its species, but its attacks were no match for a well-placed kick by Eline's Garchomp, Lycora. Unfortunately, Lycora wasn't so lucky after that and was knocked out in one shot by the Clefairy that replaced its dimwitted partner. The shards from the Metronome-summoned Ice Beam would definitely leave a few scrapes.

Putting Emberia the Charizard into the field was the right decision, and Clefairy fell to a fierce Flamethrower.

Clarisse called back her Pokemon with a teary-eyed look that brought to mind more than a few foul death threats, but held her tongue, instead stomping out of the building in a huff. Eline thought she heard a few sobs.

Oh well. She'd get over it in a few days. Right?

So, here's my submission for the Rival Battle 1 event! Hope it's not too lackluster. I just typed up that description now, so forgive me if it sucks a little.

Also, I've decided that I'm going to draw Eline with freckles from now on. Not really sure why, but it works.
